About the Speakers

Besu F. Teshome, PharmD, MSc, BCPS, is a Medical Science Director at CorMedix Therapeutics, engaging healthcare providers across Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, and Louisiana to advance antimicrobial research and education. He draws on his background as a clinical pharmacist and expertise in infectious diseases outcomes research to guide scientific discussions with clinicians and inform medical strategy, keeping patients and progress at the center of his work.

Before transitioning to industry, Dr. Teshome spent nine years as a clinical pharmacy specialist at the VA St. Louis Health Care System and as an Associate Professor at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, where he also served as Assistant Director for the Center for Health Outcomes Research and Education and received multiple teaching and precepting awards. His research and publications focus on antibiotic resistance, optimal antimicrobial exposure, and clinical outcomes. He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy Residency, and Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Dr. Joe Kindler is a Director of Medical Affairs at CorMedix. He earned his BS and PhD degrees from Penn State and the University of Georgia, respectively, and completed post-doctoral fellowships at Purdue University, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. From 2020 to 2024, Joe was an Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. Over his academic career, his research was funded by the NIH, American Diabetes Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and other agencies, and he published over 100 papers, abstracts, and book chapters on the topics of endocrine, nutritional, and other consequences of cardio-renal-metabolic diseases. Joe resides in Camp Hill, PA with his wife, children, and dog.
