IP Boot Camp is Back!

The highly anticipated 2025 KyIP IP Boot Camp is in the works, and we’re thrilled to start sharing details about this year’s event. Whether you’re a returning attendee or joining us for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome you.

This year’s Boot Camp will feature a mix of exciting new activities and beloved favorites, all designed to get your infection prevention gears turning!

Join us on the following dates:
Virtually: 30 April 2025 from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm EST

In-person: 6 May 2025 8:30 am – 3:30 pm EST at KCTC in Versailles, Kentucky
In-person: 8 May 2025 8:30 am – 3:30 pm CT at Owensboro Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky

While this is a free event, registration is required.

What can I expect at IP Boot Camp?

Virtual Didactic Day – April 30, 2025
We’ll kick things off with a full day of virtual learning featuring subject matter experts covering the topics YOU requested in our latest Learning Needs Assessment.
Expect deep dives into:

Supply Shortages
Process & Performance Improvement for the IP
Tuberculosis, including Risk Assessments
Social Determinants of Health & Infection Risks
Antimicrobial Stewardship for the IP
Outbreak Investigation
T-CHEST and Environment of Care

Hands-On Simulation Days – Two Locations!
We heard you loud and clear—you love when we come to you! So, we’re hitting the road again, bringing our highly regarded hands-on Infection Prevention simulations to two locations:

May 6, 2025 – KCTCS Versailles, KY
May 8, 2025 – Owensboro Regional Hospital, Owensboro, KY

New for 2025: A Day in the Life of an IP
This year’s in-person day will be centered around the theme: “A Day in the Life of an IP.” We’ve carefully designed a combination of hands-on and tabletop simulations to enhance the content covered in the virtual sessions—giving you a real-world experience of Infection Prevention in action.
New and improved tabletop simulations will guide you through key Infection Prevention scenarios, including:

Outbreak Management
Compliance and Performance Improvement
Supply Shortages
Social Determinants of Health

Choose your pathway
Throughout the day, time will be allotted for you to roam hands-on simulation stations at your own pace, featuring both returning favorites and brand-new activities:

Hand Hygiene Simulation (a fan favorite!)
Low-Level Disinfection (a fan favorite!)
Spot the Errors: CAUTI & CLABSI (NEW!)
Environmental Surface Cleaning (NEW!)
Handling Contaminated Linens (NEW!)
