Immunization Outreach: Enhancing Childhood and School Age Vaccination Uptake

Join KyIP Training Center as they welcome members of the Kentucky Department for Public Health for informative sessions aimed at enhancing childhood and school age vaccination uptake in Kentucky communities.

Registration: These events are no cost to attend but registration for each session is required. 

Target Audience: Healthcare professionals, educators, childcare providers, public health officials, and anyone interested in promoting childhood and school age vaccination uptake.

Early Childhood Vaccination  Presentation (birth – 4 years)

Date: May 23, 2024

Time: noon – 1:30 pm EST 
Location: Livestreamed Virtual Event
Duration: 1.5 hours 
Continuing Education: Nurses and childcare providers can earn 1.5 hours of continuing education credits for this session.

Early Childhood Vaccination-45 minutes (Crystal Back and Tara Martin)

  • Kentucky Department for Public Health Immunization Branch-Clinical Team
      • Vaccinations for children:  Birth through Age 4
      • Early Childhood Vaccination Toolkit
        • OBJECTIVES:
          1. Gain improved knowledge of state regulations, ACIP vaccine recommendations, and best practices to improve early childhood vaccination uptake. 
          2. Utilize the Immunization Outreach website and toolkits to promote childhood vaccination.

KYIR 30-Minutes (Jennifer Crawley)

  • Kentucky Department for Public Health-Immunization Branch Kentucky Immunization Registry
    • Public portal, school and childcare facility access to vaccination information
          • OBJECTIVES:
            1. Understand the functionality and benefits of the statewide immunization information system, Kentucky Immunization Registry (KYIR).
            2. Implement newly learned skills to access individual vaccination status and develop individual vaccination plans.

          1. Evaluate school age vaccination data in the community to develop community outreach and education programs.
