KyIP Training Center was present at the 2024 Nurses Day at the Capitol. Nurses Day at the Capitol in Kentucky is an event where nurses from across the state gather at the state capitol to celebrate the nursing profession, advocate for issues that affect nurses and patients, and engage with legislators. It provides an opportunity for nurses to make their voices heard on important healthcare policies and legislation. The event typically includes activities such as a press conference, meetings with legislators, and networking opportunities.
The Government Affairs Committee was working with legislators and other partners to garner support for the KNA’s legislative priorities which included:
- Safe Staffing Committees
- Decriminalization of errors
- Funding a nurse in every Kentucky school, every day.
